If you are an experienced physiotherapist, this degree provides you with an opportunity to enrich and extend your professional practice and to undertake research in professional settings. The degree offers an integrated program of one-third coursework and two-thirds research. Through a combination of core and elective subjects, you will gain knowledge and skills in designing and conducting research, literature review techniques, critical analysis and writing for publication, as well as opportunities to apply these skills in clinically-based projects. Your research will produce a thesis of 60,000 words of publishable quality.

Entry requirements

Academic entry requirement

A four-year Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or equivalent, and eligibility for registration as a physiotherapist in Victoria. You must have an Australian Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with Honours at H1 or H2A level, or approved international equivalent, plus at
least three years of relevant professional experience. You are also required to provide evidence of research expertise.

English language requirement

IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 7.0;

TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 600 with a score of 6 or more in the Test of Written English;

TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 94 with a minimum for SLR 24; W27;

English as the language of instruction in tertiary studies may be accepted. Please note: English as the language of instruction in previous study will not be accepted as a basis of admission (English) for courses where the approved test score requirement is above an IELTS 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0.

Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): minimum score of 72 with no communicative skill score less than 68.

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): a grade of A or higher.

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): A grade of B or higher.
