This course is a comprehensive study package for professionals in health service settings who want to expand their career pathway into senior management roles in public or private organisations. It also provides an entry into the health sector for managers working in non-healthcare settings.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.
English language requirement
IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0.

Academic entry requirement
Applicants are required to hold an Australian Bachelor's degree or approved international equivalent Bachelor's degree in a business or related field and have a minimum of two years relevant management experience in the health sector. Applicants are also required to submit a one page statement of reasons for study and be supported by two referees.
Minimum grade average equivalent to 70% in previous qualification if in a related field, of 75% if in an unrelated field.
NB: Meeting minimum entry requirements does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
Graduates can find work in senior management roles in the public and private sectors, including hospitals, health centres, research centres, pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, consulting firms and government organisations.
The Master of Business Administration has EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Graduates of the Master of Business Administration may apply for membership with the Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) and the Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA). Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
The Master of Health Administration is accredited by the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM). Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree.
