Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Physiotherapy Practice

By studying La Trobe’s Bachelor of Applied Science/Master of Physiotherapy, you’ll learn from experienced, practising physiotherapists and develop skills to help patients recuperate from physical disabilities and movement disorders.
In first year, you’ll study the fundamentals of health science and in second year, you’ll deepen your knowledge of biosciences and develop your physiotherapy skills. In the final two years you’ll apply your knowledge in the areas of cardiothoracic, neurological, musculoskeletal dysfunction, women’s health and paediatrics in a variety of settings. In final year you can pursue a range of specialty areas including advanced neurology and private practice.
La Trobe’s Bachelor of Applied Science/Master of Physiotherapy Practice gives you clinical training equivalent to seven months of work experience. Undertake your work placements close to home or overseas.

Fees and scholarships
Annual tuition fee (A$)
Students should allow approximately AUD$350 for a uniform, name badge and equipment. Students can purchase these items from any supplier; however LTU branded uniforms must be purchased from a university approved vendor; these items remain the student's personal property. In addition, students must obtain a Police Certificate (Victorian Police Certificate or Fit2Work) - AUD$20.00 (annually) and a Working with Children Check (no cost). A First Aid II Certificate and/or CPR assessment may be required (AUD$160). The CPR component must be renewed annually. Please note this course is not conducted by La Trobe University. A schedule of mandatory immunisations are required, the costs of which may vary depending on previous immunisation history, approximately AUD$250 -AUD$500. Clinical placements may incur accommodation and travel costs, and these will vary depending on the placement venue. Please note that all costs are approximate and are subject to change.
