This online course gives you the chance to study with a leader in nursing education alongside your other commitments. You'll develop advanced knowledge of nursing research along with the educational or leadership and management skills you need to make a positive impact on your work environment and the health of your community.

We aim to provide students with the knowledge and skills in research and their chosen area of professional practice (nursing education or leadership and management). The course enables you to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, specialised proficiency and effective communication skills for ethically oriented nursing practice. You will be able to make high level independent judgements, plan, implement and evaluate practice in specialty contexts, and function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

This course is ideal for suitably qualified nurses, who want to pursue a career in nursing education or leadership and management. The course is delivered via a flexible online mode and comprises learning modules delivered via LMS. Internet access is an essential requirement for this course.

This course has fourteen intakes in 2018. As a La Trobe online student, you will have email and telephone access to a designated student services specialist, trained to help you overcome any challenge that may arise. You will be provided with the contact details once you have been accepted into the course. In addition, you may utilize Peer Learning Advisers as a resource. PLAs are experienced and successful students who are trained to assist you with your studies and use of the library. PLAs can help you with all your study and general inquiries.
