Graduate Certificate in Management (Public Sector)
The course has been developed in conjunction with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria) to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to be able to make a significant contribution to public policy, policy development and policy leadership as well as to develop ideas, lead and manage organisational activities across government. The course offers opportunities for a pathway to a Master of Management.
An Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an approved equivalent qualification. Admission may be granted to applicants without an undergraduate degree but with five or more years of relevant work experience. In making an offer to an applicant, the University may give consideration to a range of factors including English proficiency, academic record and/or employment experience.
NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.
This qualification is designed for public servants seeking to advance their career in public administration and leadership, or for students seeking to develop a career in public sector management or leadership in the public sector or not-for-profit organisations.
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Management (Public Sector) may apply for membership with Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria). Membership may be subject to additional or ongoing requirements beyond completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
Fees and costs
$29,400 per 120 credit points.
