The curriculum is designed to make you a modern and responsible business leader who has the expertise to develop and sustain competitive advantages for your organisation. The program focuses on the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education, general management skills and includes a comprehensive personal and professional skills development unit.

This program is delivered online, with more than five intakes per year.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 9.

Entry requirements


Australian Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, with a minimum C grade (60%) average in the final year and three years' relevant postgraduate managerial experience. Applicants with more than eight years' relevant managerial experience but without an undergraduate degree may be considered for professional entry. NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

Career outcomes

The degree is particularly suited to those seeking to advance their career in general management, in either national or international settings. Typically, graduates find opportunities in public and private sectors, and within for-profit and not-for-profit organisations. Alternatively, they may choose to start their own business.

Professional recognition

The Master of Business Administration (Online) has EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Graduates of the Master of Business Administration (online) may apply for membership with the Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) and the Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA).
