The heart of any business is its people. With this professionally accredited three-year degree, you'll develop skills in managing people and learn how to help businesses and organisations operate more effectively.

In your first year you'll gain an introduction to a range of business disciplines such as accounting, economics, finance and marketing. You'll also complete the first subject of your major in human resource management, focusing on the foundations of good management.

Your eight-subject human resources management major provides you with the knowledge you need to manage and motivate people. You'll learn about organisational behaviour, employment relations, human resource information systems and how to develop and reward talent.

This course also offers you the opportunity to take a second major to expand your career options. You can choose from areas including sport management, event management, or tourism and hospitality.

To build practical experience, you'll undertake a team project where you'll create a plan to solve a social, environmental or business problem. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in an international study tour to see how HR management works in a global context.

Our unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.

Advanced Standing - Credit for prior study

Advanced Standing is the recognition of previous study or learning that can be counted towards a qualification. This can reduce the number of subjects required to complete your course. The amount of credit received depends on the level and relevance of your previous tertiary study and the number of subjects completed. The University will designate courses where there is only admission into Year 1 of the course. In these cases, there is limited advanced standing.
