Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering

Adam Furphy is the Managing Director of Shepparton-based manufacturing business J. Furphy & Sons. Adam is the great, great-grandson of the company’s founder John Furphy who started the business in 1864.  The company owns and operates Hot Dip Galvanizing plants in Geelong, Shepparton, and Albury serving much of regional Victoria and southern NSW.  The company also manufactures and services stainless steel tanks and vessels for a wide variety of industries across Australia and New Zealand.

Adam is the Chair of the Galvanizers Association of Australia and a director of Weld Australia.  More locally he is the Chair of the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project – a project that engages the Greater Shepparton Community to improve happiness and health of our children and is also a Trustee of the Shepparton Mechanic’s Institute and a member of the Shepparton Art Museum Foundation board.
