Pathways to La Trobe: our on-campus college
We recognise you may not have the appropriate academic qualifications or English level required for your degree studies. A range of programs that provide a bridge to your university degree are delivered by our partner, Navitas.
English language, Foundation Studies and Diploma programs are located within the La Trobe Melbourne and Sydney campuses.
All pathway programs are packaged with your La Trobe University degree, so you have one offer letter, one student visa, and one student ID for the duration of your studies.
The pathway advantage:
- Located on-campus in purpose built facilities with learning spaces, computer rooms and places to socialise.
- Access to university facilities – as a pathway student, you will have access to our range of facilities from your first day on campus.
- Flexible intakes with programs starting throughout the year, so you can start your studies at a time that suits you.
- Small class sizes with dedicated teachers and cutting-edge facilities, so you will be studying in an environment where you are well prepared to succeed.
Foundation Studies programs are bridging programs that help you transition from international studies to an Australian degree.
The programs are equivalent to an Australian secondary school qualification, and prepare you to enter the first year of a range of university degrees (see specific progression requirements on our website and outlined in your letter of offer).
With three subject streams on offer, you will study subjects relevant to your chosen career from day one.

|Business, Information Technology and Humanities||085026J||Melbourne Campus/Sydney Campus|

Australian and international students are eligible for this program, meaning that the friends you make in your Diploma will progress with you through your entire degree.

English for further studies (ELICOS)
CRICOS Code 079164E
If you require a higher level of English ability, you can study intensive English before progressing to your pathway, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
There are nine intakes per year for English, and a maximum of eighteen students per class. This means you get exceptional support to improve your English within an Australian campus.
For the majority of these programs, no additional external test (e.g. IELTS) will be required upon completion. When you successfully complete your English studies, you will progress directly to your degree.
Details of all progression requirements will be clearly outlined on your letter of offer.
