Staff exchange program
We are now calling for expressions of interest for our 2019 program of staff exchange for research collaboration with Chinese researchers.
About the program
This program supports staff exchange for the purposes of research collaboration between La Trobe University and universities in China. The aim of this program is to improve the volume and quality of joint research with China-based researchers, and to help La Trobe staff better understand China through improved access to China-focused scholarship.
Funding of up to $5000 will be available to support La Trobe staff travelling to a Chinese university or staff from a Chinese university travelling to La Trobe, to undertake collaborative research.
Priority will be given to staff exchange with the following institutions but is not limited to these institutions:
- Peking University
- Beijing Foreign Studies University
- Wuhan University
- Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Beijing)
- East China Normal University.
Key dates
The deadline for submission of expressions of interest is 30 April 2019.
Funds must be acquitted in 2019. The successful applicants must make flight bookings before the following deadlines:
- LTU academics to visit China: Friday 26 July 2019
- Chinese academics to visit La Trobe University: Friday 30 August 2019
The China Studies Research Centre reserves the right to withdraw the grants, should the deadlines be missed.
What to include in your EOI
Expressions of interest to participate in the 2019 program should include:
- a brief outline of planned research activities;
- the names and affiliations of proposed collaborators/hosts
- indicative budget.
