Maya Menahemi-Falkov

Speech Pathologist | PhD candidate

Maya is an international PhD candidate and a senior speech pathologist from Israel. She has 13 years of work experience in sub-acute settings. Before relocating to Australia she served for seven years as the Head of Speech Language Pathology service in one of Israel's largest hospitals.

Maya held a teaching position at Tel-Aviv University and took part in a team that designed and researched the development of tele-rehabilitation and computerised tools for people with aphasia and dysarthria.

Maya started her PhD studies at La Trobe University in October 2014 and is supervised by Associate Professor Miranda Rose and Dr Anne Hill (The University of Queensland).  Her research examines the effect of maintenance programs on the long-term retention of outcomes from intensive aphasia treatment programs in people with chronic aphasia.
