Speech Pathologist | Lecturer | Assistant Trial Manager
Abby is a Speech Pathologist who has worked primarily in acute stroke units, both in Australia and the United Kingdom, since graduating from La Trobe University. She currently works in the Discipline of Speech Pathology as a lecturer and profession mentor, and for the COMPARE Clinical Trial as an Assistant Trial Manager & Therapy Integrity Monitor.
Abby's PhD studies – undertaken through The University of Queensland and supervised by Professor Linda Worrall, Associate Professor Miranda Rose, and Dr Robyn O'Halloran – explored the management of aphasia in acute hospital settings using qualitative methodologies.
Abby's research and clinical interest lies in the acute management of post-stroke aphasia, knowledge translation, clinical reasoning and problem solving, and evidence-based practice.
