Economic development and international trade
The department has a group of researchers with internationally recognised expertise on both theoretical and empirical aspects of international trade and economic development, focusing on issues related to Asian economies, including China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia and Australia's economic links with Asia. This group has close links with leading research institutions in the region and provides advice and consultancy services to the Australian and Asian government bodies, industry groups, and to major international development agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development bank and United Nations.
