Vice-President (Strategy and Development)
Ms Natalie MacDonald commenced at La Trobe University in September 2012 and is Vice-President (Strategy and Development).
Ms MacDonald was previously the Vice President (Administration) from 2012-2018 for the University and prior to that, Director-General of the Queensland Government's Department of Housing and Public Works.
As Vice President (Strategy and Development), Ms MacDonald is focused on the development, implementation and monitoring of whole of University strategy to grow and develop the University as a key local, state, national and international contributor to knowledge, education and economic and social growth.
She has responsibility for developing and delivering on the University’s City of the Future vision, a development which will see the University’s Bundoora (Melbourne) Campus transform into a city with key sports and recreation, research and innovation, retail and commercial, housing and health precincts. She also oversees the development of all campuses and will support the University’s strong mission to contribute to regional growth and development.
Ms MacDonald has extensive experience in leading organisational reform and strategy, the delivery of corporate services, building and design, accommodation, maintenance, facilities management and procurement services, information services, and the delivery of government services across wide geographical areas. She has served on a number of Commonwealth and State bodies and not-for-profit, superannuation and research boards and is currently serving on four different boards ranging from affordable housing to development to education.
