Professor Richard Speed
Professor Richard Speed is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global and Regional) at La Trobe University. The Global and Regional Division leads the University’s commitments to its markets and its communities, and carries oversight of the University’s strategic intent to connect both globally and locally to attract students and partners from across the world, and closer to home.
Richard was formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and, prior to that, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Regional), overseeing engagement with the regional communities served by the University.
Richard arrived in Australia over 25 years ago, joining Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, where he taught and researched in marketing strategy. He was appointed ANZ Professor of Marketing Strategy in 2001 and served as Associate Dean (Faculty Resources). He studied at Oxford and Loughborough Universities, and taught at King’s College London.
