Honours 2012 - Information Session - Friday September 9, 2011 → 12 - 2 pm

STEPS TO HONOURS

Check the Zoology Honours website for interesting projects and potential supervisors
Hake a look at the 2010 Honours Handbook to get an idea of the course requirements (download available from the link above)
Approach potential supervisors as early as possible – make an appointment to see them
Attend the information session – This will be held at 12 noon on September 9th in the Zoology seminar room
Discuss projects with supervisors at the information session or make an appointment to meet them afterwards
Nominate your preferred projects via the online project selection form by 18 November 2011.
Get good marks in your final exams! Although the entrance mark is only 65% in your third year zoology major, you are competing for your preferred project or supervisor
Supervisors will contact successful applicants to offer positions, usually by mid December
Successful honours students should enrol in honours at the Faculty Office

FAQs

What if I am planning to finish mid way through next year?
If you are finishing halfway through the year, you should still apply for honours at the end of the current year as many projects start in August and you may be eligible for this round. A supervisor may accept you conditionally if your marks suggest you are a good student.
