Lisa Spence-Bailey - Bachelor of Biological Sciences (Honours), PhD

I am currently employed as a Wildlife Ecologist at Mt Gibson Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a 130,000 ha property, 350kms NE of Perth, which is managed by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy. My responsibilities include taking part in the project design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of translocated threatened plant and animal species. I am also involved with planning for the Mt Gibson Fauna Restoration Project - a project that aims to reintroduce up to 10 mammal species into a 4000 ha feral-free enclosure on the property. I am also responsible for the creation of an ecosystem health monitoring plan for the property. This job has a healthy balance of office-based and field-based work and is a really great position to move into after my postgraduate studies at La Trobe Uni.
