Amanda Schaarschmidt. Bachelor of Biological Sciences (Honours). Aquatic Ecology Research Assistant, Biosis Research

Biosis Research is a consultancy company that specialises in natural environment and cultural heritage. My role as Aquatic Ecology Research Assistant is to assist with field work, laboratory work and data entry. I have been involved in River Health Monitoring and Assessment (AUSRIVAS), and survey and identification of freshwater fish and invertebrates. I also assist Zoologists with field surveys when required (e.g. Southern Brown Bandicoot, Golden Sun Moth and Growling Grass Frog). I enjoy working at Biosis because I am constantly learning and it has provided me with valuable field and lab experience.
