Dean Ingwersen - Bachelor of Conservation Biology and Ecology (Honours) - Threatened Bird Network Coordinator, Birds Australia

I work for Birds Australia, a national non-government organisation dedicated to the study and conservation of Australia’s bird species. I have a very diverse role which includes linking volunteers to threatened species recovery programs. I am also a member of a number of recovery teams, write articles on threatened birds, give presentations and workshops, and assist with the organisation and implementation of field surveys.

Species covered by my project include the Orange-bellied Parrot, Regent Honeyeater and Grey-crowned Babbler.

This is a fantastic job as I get to work for the conservation of our amazing avifauna. I get to deal with so many enthusiastic people on a daily basis, as well as spending some time in the field.
