Zoology 3rd year field courses - 2012
The Department is committed to enhancing the teaching of zoology through field experience. Two field courses are offered this year, each to a uniquely Australian locality. These field courses offer the student of zoology unrivalled learning experiences in various aspects concerned with the Australian fauna.
Field courses available
- Mallee Field Course - The Mallee is a distinctive and fascinating place to study ecology. Students will work in groups on ecological research projects on fauna such as echidnas, ants, geckos and honeyeaters, and management issues such as habitat fragmentation, effects of fire or wildlife corridors.
- Heron Island Field Course - This coral cay is a natural laboratory for the student interested in zoology to gain some insight into the physiology of marine organisms while at the same appreciating the faunal diversity offered by coral reefs.

Demand for places is high. Ensure that you have enrolled and paid the appropriate deposit(s) by the required date/s. All costs are correct at the time of publication. The Department reserves the right to vary costs if necessary. Deposits are non-refundable after the date for final payment. Payment does not include fees for tuition.
