The physics department at La Trobe is a small but active department specialising in two research areas: Materials and Surface Science and Space
Science.
We have a proud record of success in attracting research funding in both areas and can therefore provide a well-supported environment for
postgraduate study.
Because of the relatively small numbers involved, Masters and PhD students are able to develop a close relationship with their supervisor(s) and
with other graduate students. Many of these come from overseas and provide a rich mixture of interesting cultural diversity.
Details of the thesis topics available within both groups are given below. You are encouraged to contact any member of staff whose research interests
you directly. Details of admission procedures and of available scholarships are also included.
