La Trobe is a relatively new university with a progressive teaching and research policy situated within the Melbourne metropolitan area. The physics department is small enough to enable staff and students to get to know each other at an early stage, and yet it maintains an internationally competitive research profile. Individual supervision at graduate level is normal and we are proud of the fact that we maintain small group tutorials at all undergraduate year levels.
