MWS Plant NurseryOpen 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday & Sundays in Autumn & Spring. The Melbourne Wildlife Sanctuary at La Trobe University was set up in 1967 as a project in restoration and management of indigenous flora and fauna. To provide the massive numbers of plants required the MWS Plant Nursery (formerly Keelbundora) was established. Plants availablePrior to the arrival of Europeans there was an impressive range of native plants in the area, over 400 species ranging from tiny orchids to towering eucalypts. The nursery specialises in plants indigenous to the Lower Yarra Valley. Over 250 species of indigenous plants are available from the Nursery.
