Education experiences

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary offers a wide range of education experiences for schools, professionals and the wider community. The experiences cover a range of fields from habitat restoration, through to archaeology. As the Sanctuary develops, we refine and expand the range of experiences and continue to involve innovative approaches in the teaching of environmental and sustainability issues.

The education experiences are developed according to the Framework for Sanctuary education (PDF 75KB)

Programs have been developed to fully integrate into the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and cover years P-12 with an emphasis on practical experience and fun. The 30 hectare site includes extensive wetlands, remnant woodland, indoor and outdoor classrooms and experienced, professional staff.
