Student usage of the Windows VPN client
Before the VPN client software can be used a connection to the internet is required (via your ISP). Ensure that you are connected to your ISP and have a working internet connection before starting the VPN client.
Connecting to the VPN
- To start the VPN client software click on Start -> Programs -> La Trobe VPN Client -> La Trobe VPN Client
- Click on the dropdown arrow, select La Trobe Uni - Students and click on the Connect button
- Type in your La Trobe Student username and password. Click OK (Your username should be entered in the format of STUDENTS\username)
- Read the authorised usage notice then click on Continue
- The VPN client software will now minimize to the system tray. The computer now has a VPN connection to La Trobe University.
Disconnecting from the VPN
To disconnect from an established VPN connection right click on the system tray icon ( 
) and choose Disconnect.
