Bachelor of Visual ArtsVisual Arts Media Workshop.
Visual Arts Media Workshop may also be studied as a 15 point elective unit by students from outside the Bachelor of Visual Arts. In Visual Arts Media Workshop you will develop your technical skills in your chosen major medium. The units are divided into three four-week blocks each leading to a specific assignment. Each week there is a lecture/demonstration and a supervised workshop. In these workshops you will investigate issues specific to your chosen media including health and safety, materials, tools, and techniques both those common in current practice and in the past. In the early stages of the degree the workshops are lecturer directed but in later stages your investigations and research will become self directed. In the final year of the degree your assignments will be self-directed and developed in tandem with your major studies in consultation with your lecturer. With the assistance of your lecturer you will develop three discreet, sequential assignments that together with a technical journal will be the basis of your assessment.
