Welcome to the School of Visual Arts and Design

The School of Visual Arts and Design operates in two campuses of La Trobe University, Bendigo and Mildura.

Aligned with the excellent academic programs, students have generous access to specialist studios and equipment. The Visual Arts degrees aim to provide students with a quality environment for learning and research, developing aesthetic appreciation and design skills with an emphasis on individualism, whilst at the same time offering the opportunity to expand technical expertise across a broad range of media.

The School of Visual Arts and Design offers two, three-year, undergraduate degrees:

Both degrees can also be taken at honours level by completing a fourth year of study.

At postgraduate level both Masters and PHD degrees by research are offered in all the Visual Arts disciplines.

The School of Visual Arts and Design also offers elective units for students from outside the School in the following areas

For further information about elective units and Visual Arts Practice refer to the Undergraduate Handbook under BACHELOR OF VISUAL ARTS - BENDIGO (RBVA) and

BACHELOR OF GRAPHIC DESIGN -BENDIGO (RBVAG)

Non - degree single units are also available:
Do you wish to undertake studies in visual arts and design at a tertiary level and yet do not wish to enrol in a full degree? If it is not possible because of time, work or other constraints to attempt a full degree course you may undertake units in any of the studios or in Art and Visual Culture. These units are offered on a fee for service basis which represents excellent value, with full access to facilities including after-hours, and you may use passes in these units to contribute credits to a degree should you wish later to enrol in one.
