practice in studio art or graphic design, through concentrated individual
studio work, and advanced theoretical studies, in a fourth year. The
courses emphasise the interconnectedness of theory and practice and
provide opportunities for inter-disciplinary studies.
The Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) and Graphic Design (Honours) are
open only to those students who have displayed special potential and
creative capacity, and who have a record of achieving the upper grades
of A or B in their major discipline with strong grades in Art and Visual
Culture in their final semester.

Graduate Diplomas, Masters and PhD, either at La Trobe or any other Australian
University, in Visual Arts, Graphic Design and related disciplines, and
in Education. Honours students are recognised as emerging researchers
by museums and public institutions, practitioners and academics and many

in the visual arts sector where growing employment opportunities exist
for graduates including the vocation of practicing exhibiting artist,
or designer, curatorship in collections, commercial and public galleries,
arts administration in municipal and government community arts programs,
photojournalism, web design, colour and interior design consultancies,
