Bachelor of Visual Arts students can major in Printmaking. The units Theory and Methodologies in Studio Practice and Visual Arts Media Workshop, together, constitute the major study and are offered within the Printmaking studio. Students majoring in other areas may combine printmaking with their major area through Comparative Studies in Visual Media. Printmaking is available at both the Bendigo and Mildura campuses.

Printmaking may be studied within Visual Arts Media Workshop as an elective unit by students within the Bachelor of Graphic Design and students from outside the School of Visual Arts and Design.

Printmaking may also be taken at Honours (fourth year) level and there are opportunities for research at Masters and Ph.D levels.

The Printmaking Studio covers the areas of intaglio, lithography and relief printing. Darkroom facilities and excellent work and storage areas are provided.

Visual Arts Media Workshop is designed to give students a thorough grounding in technical skills and processes and encourages exploration of recent developments in image making together with an experimental and innovative approach to printmaking.

Theory and Methodologies in Studio Practice program is folio based and students are encouraged to explore, in depth, areas of particular interest. They are assisted in developing a sense of professional skill and independence that will enable their continuing commitment to printmaking after the completion of the course.
