Online Photojouranlism

The Photojournalism unit will be online, except for a weekend at the beginning of the semester when we will ask you [if at all possible] to visit the campus at Bendigo for an intensive 2 day introduction to both the course and your fellow students. During this period we will also work in the computer lab, giving you valuable information about downloading, digital workflow, editing etc.

Online lectures are provided as streamed video and pdf slide presentations. Special arrangements can be made with limited internet access.

Many students who have already completed the Photojournalism unit have used their strong photographic skills in various ways. For example, a graduate of only 18 months received a media pass to the Beijing Olympics; 2 of our 2007 graduates work for regional Fairfax papers, Donna Bailey, a finalist in 3 Leica Documentary Awards, has a formidable exhibition career, and other students use their strong photographic skill base to enhance their own personal enjoyment of the medium.

Costs? The Federal Government single unit fee of $650 for each 13 week semester - there are 2 semesters per year, over 3 years. You can sign up anytime up to and including the first week of each semester. At the moment we are offering the first Unit, then in July the Second Unit, in 2010, Units 3 & 4 etc.
