The Raw Youth Arts Award: celebrates the creative talents of our young people in the Greater Bendigo area. Each year Council gives three $1,000 Awards to young people in the areas of LITERATURE, VISUAL ARTS and PERFORMING ARTS. Closed

Robert Jacks Drawing Prize. Non-acquisitive prize $5,000 Bendigo Art Gallery closed for 2008.

National Awards for Students

youthARTSproject celebrates the creative energies and contemporary art works by young emerging and established Australian artists aged 18 - 25yrs. The project creates an opportunity for young artists to present their works in a professional state-of-the-art venue. youthARTSproject showcases recent work and gives young people a voice. There is no set theme.

National Tertiary Art Prize. Three major categories:

1. Painting/Works on Paper/Printmaking;
2. Photography/Photomedia/Electronic Art
3. Sculpture/Installation

Prizemoney is $1,000 for each category and a bonus $500 cash prize for the artwork judged best overall.

Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards.The aim of these Awards is to introduce tertiary students studying design to the different materials, processes and technologies in the world of packaging and design. They have the chance to create, innovate and design a solution to the briefs provided. They have the freedom to go beyond the boundaries,create a concept then sell their idea through their rationale.

Ilford Photography Competition for Tertiary Students. Two awards:Silver halide black and white and digital inkjet. Prize value 1st - $400, 2nd - $250 and 3rd - $100. Awards are held twice each year. Closing date 23rd November.

International Awards

2008 Realise Your Dream Award - The prizes offer Australians aged 21-28 with skills in the creative industries a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with British leaders in their respective fields. Each prize includes a tailor-made work experience programme in the UK, a return flight and $8000 to cover living expenses while you are there.

The Realise Your Dream application process has two key steps as follows:

• Applicants must complete the online registration form
• Applicants must produce a three-minute DVD that explains their dream and how a short professional trip to the UK will help achieve it. This DVD must be sent to: Realise Your Dream Application, c/o British Council Australia, PO Box 88, Edgecliff, NSW, 2027
