The grant aims to encourage and support up-and-coming artists aged 30 and under, to realise their dreams in the industry Sandra was so passionate about, as well as promote the importance of a professional studio environment to young artists. The winner will receive access to the Sandra Bardas studio located within Appleton Street Studios, for 12 months, commencing the following January of each year. In addition, there will be a supplement of $5,000 worth of art materials, relevant to the winner’s practice, provided for their use. Applications can be downloaded from 1 August 2009 and must be received by 5pm on 1 September 2009. Grant applications will be examined initially by Jeff Martin, professional artist and co-founder of Appleton Street Studios and Rob Gould of Gould Galleries. Following the short listing process the grant recipient will be chosen by the Bardas family.
