| Unit Description: | In this subject students examine issues in learning European languages such as: popular ideas about language learning, how language is learned in the classroom, what factors shape the learning and approaches to explaining second language learning. Using trans-European case studies from Italy, Spain and France other issues affecting language learning will be covered including cultural awareness, politics and identity. Lectures are taught in English, however students majoring in Spanish will attend tutorials in Spanish and complete their written work in the Spanish language. |
| Prerequisites: | Students attending tutorials in Spanish must have completed SPA1ADB or SPA2BEB |
| Class Requirements: | one 1-hour lecture and one 2-hour tutorial per week. For a pass in this subject students must normally attend at least 80% of the tutorials |
