Unit Short Title:ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

Unit Description:In this unit students are introduced to the nature of the environment and its uses and abuses by our society. A multi-disciplinary approach is used to examine chemical, biological and physical processes, how these may be unbalanced by human activity and the subsequent effect on human health and the environment.
Class Requirements:one 2-hour lecture and one 2-hour practical/tutorial class per week. A minimum of two field excursions will be conducted in lieu of some practical sessions.
