PSY1BNB, 2012

Subject Code:PSY1BNB
Subject Short Title:INTRODUCTION TO BEHAVIOURAL NEUROSCIENCE 1B
Credit Points:15
Subject Description:Behavioural neuroscience has developed by linking knowledge and techniques from a number of traditionally biological and medical disciplines to the knowledge and techniques of the behavioural sciences in general, and psychology in particular. Among the disciplines critical to an understanding of the relationship between behaviour and biological processes are physiology, genetics, pharmacology, anatomy, endocrinology, and immunology, especially as these pertain to brain processes. This knowledge is applied in PSY1BNB to allow us to explain how hormonal changes, sensory information, developmental principles, nutrition, and biological rhythms all influence behaviour, as well as how behaviour influences the brain.
