| Unit Description: | This subject is a prerequisite for students wishing to proceed to an honours degree in politics, but is not restricted to such students. It is designed to introduce students to some of the most important events and ideas which have shaped the course of twentieth century politics (Nazism, Stalinism, liberalism, feminism, anti-racism, globalisation) through the writings of some of the century's most important or influential political writers (Orwell, Koestler, Levi, Hayek, Friedan, Hobsbawm, Havel, Huntington et al). |
| Prerequisites: | by invitation only from Professor Robert Manne, issued to students who have performed at a high level in first and second-year politics subjects |
| Class Requirements: | one 3-hour seminar per week |
