| Unit Description: | Mathematics for IT provides students with a firm grounding in basic algebra, as well as introducing mathematical concepts that play an important role in modern information technology. Topics include numbers and algebra, power functions, exponentials and logarithms, Big-O notation, modular arithmetic, elementary cryptography, error-detecting and error-correcting codes, graph theory (particlarly trees), and Huffman codes. |
