| Unit Description: | In this unit students examine issues in learning European languages such as: popular ideas about language learning, how language is learned in the classroom, what factors shape the learning and approaches to explaining second language learning. Using case studies from Italy, Spain and France other issues affecting language learning will be covered including cultural awareness, policy and planning and identity. |
| Class Requirements: | one 1.5-hour lecture and one 1.5-hour tutorial per week. For a pass in this unit students must normally attend at least 80% of the tutorials |
