Faculty Of Science, Technology & Engineering
CIV4ST3, 2009
| Unit Code: | CIV4ST3 |
| Unit Short Title: | STRUCTURES 3 |
| Credit Points: | 15.0 |
| Unit Description: | In this unit there is a focus on elasticity theory as a basis for analysing structures and the use of finite elements for obtaining approximate solutions is covered. It discusses the theoretical underpinnings of standard structural theories, including dynamics. The unit also introduces the key concepts of the finite element method and how it is implemented and used in practice. |
