| Subject Description: | General Principles of Chemistry is a cornerstone subject for students who have some previous knowledge or study in chemistry. The aim of the subject is to instill concepts, knowledge and skills that will enable these students to apply chemical principles and practice during their university degree and future employment. The content of the one semester subject covers topics common to senior high school chemistry including atomic structure, quantum theory, bonding, periodicity, organic and inorganic reactions and physical chemistry. The subject is also intended to prepare students to advance to second semester chemistry. |
