Unit Short Title:ARCHAEOLOGY FIELDWORK

Unit Description:In this subject students will undertake field work in a variety of settings either in Australia or overseas. Although best suited to academic research projects, students may find appropriate fieldwork associated with archaeological consultancies in private organisations, state and federal government instrumentalities. The minimum requirement for this subject is four consecutive weeks of fieldwork which is certified by the archaeologist in charge of the relevant project. Students may only select projects approved by the co-ordinator in advance.
Prerequisites:40 credit points of second-year archaeology and co-ordinator's approval
Class Requirements:a minimum of four weeks full-time participation in an approved archaeological fieldwork project
