| Unit Description: | In this subject students trace the sequence of events that make up the story of human evolution and explore current understanding of the dynamics underlying those events. This includes dicussion of the strategies being employed to reconstruct the behaviour of extinct species for which there are no living analogues. Topics include the earliest archaeological traces, the expansion of the biogeographic range and the establishment of modern human behaviour patterns. |
| Prerequisites: | at least 15 credit points of archaeology or co-ordinator's approval |
| Class Requirements: | one 1-hour lecture and one 2-hour workshop per week. For a pass in this subject students must normally attend at least 80% of the tutorials |
