Bicycle parking and storage

The new bike shed located north of the new La Trobe Institute of Molecular Science (LIMS) building is now open for use.

The bike shed offers secure bike storage similar to the CycleSmart Centre.

You can request access to the facility by filling out the Secure Bike Storage Access Request Form. Please allow 24 hours for processing.

 

The CycleSmart Centre is located on the eastern end of the Humanities 3 building (near the eastern lecture theatres).

The CycleSmart Centre is an end-of-trip facility available for use by staff and students. The centre offers secure bike storage with swipe card access, showers, change facilities, toilets and lockers.

For access to the facility, fill out the Secure Bike Storage Access Request Form. Please allow 24 hours for processing.

The Melbourne campus has parking and storage available for approximately 550 bikes.

Lockers

The lockers available for rent at the CycleSmart Centre are regular sized lockers which are suitable for your personal belongings.

Please note the lockers are in high demand. If you are unable to secure a locker, we can add your name to a waiting list for the next one that becomes available.

Bike lockers 

There are approximately 138 full size bike lockers available for hire at the Melbourne campus.

Full size bike lockers are available at the following locations:

• Eastern Lecture Theatres (underneath) 
• Health Sciences Walkway (underneath) next to Health Sciences 1
  
• Health Sciences 3 (in front)
• In the foyer between the R L Reid building and Biological Sciences 1

How to hire a locker or bike locker

Lockers and bike lockers are administrated by the Division of Student Services and are available for hire from 4 March until 30 November 2013. Please fill in and submit the relevant form to hire a locker or bike locker. 

Bike lockers will become available from the first day of semester, at 9 am on Monday 4 March 2013 at the Division of Student Services administration. They usually sell out that day. All locker keys must be returned before 30 November.

Existing locker holders can submit their form to the Division of Student Services by emailing lockers@latrobe.edu.au. If you hold a locker in the CycleSmart change rooms you will get $2 back when you wish to re-hire your locker for the year.

There are shower and change facilities in the CycleSmart Centre and many other areas of the campus. View the Melbourne campus showers and storage map [PDF 706KB] for more information.

The Union Building at the Melbourne campus has showers in the main male and female toilets. Free towels and soap for the Union showers are available from the Guild administration office on presentation of your student card.

Showers are also available, free of charge, at the Sports and Recreation Centre. Soap is provided free and towels can be hired for $1 from the Centre reception.

56 bike lockers are available in 5 areas of the campus.

• Free to hire for Bendigo Student Association Platinum Members.
• $10 per year for others.
• A refundable $50 lock deposit applies.
