Online self-paced computer training is available to staff and students using the web-based learning management system ' Element K'.
Element K
Element K provides an alternative option to La Trobe University staff who cannot attend instructor-led training, as well as providing valuable computer skill development for students. A broad range of Element K computer training courses are available, including Adobe programs as well as Office 2003 and Office 2007 programs.
All students are automatically given free access to the online learning system for the seven courses that make up the Essential Core Computing Skills. However, students who wish to register for courses other than the Essential Core Computing Skills should go to the registration page and click on Undergraduates or Postgraduates.
Staff have free access to all Element K courses.
The username is your La Trobe University email address and passwords will be emailed to staff and students. Element K is not accessible using your Activie Directory username and password.

Online courses
Find out what courses are available online.
| Step one: | Click the Grey Login Button to access Element K |
| Step two: | Enter your Username and Password. Your username will be your La Trobe University email address and you will be sent a temporary Element K Password via email. |
| Step three: | Click on Catalog on the Menu Bar to see the drop down list of your enrolled courses. If you have trouble finding courses in the various categories of the Catalog, you may find it helpful to refer to the document "Where to find courses in Element K" (pdf 105kb) |
