About us
The Tourism and Hospitality Research Unit is based in the Department of Management, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, drawing on over fifteen years of Tourism and Hospitality research at La Trobe.
We aim to be the place to go for reliable research on the changing nature of Tourism and Hospitality and its intersection with Events in Australia and around the world. Through our research, collaborations and publications, we aim to contribute to a global understanding of tourism and hospitality at various social and political levels. We are interested in the theoretical, philosophical, practical and political issues related to tourism, hospitality and events.
The Centre draws from a range of disciplines, including management, marketing, economics, law, sociology, anthropology, community development, sociology to investigate issues surrounding tourism and hospitality in the public, not for profit and corporate sectors and their impact on community development.
