At La Trobe University, the web-based text-matching system we use is called Turnitin. Having Turnitin is part of La Trobe's educational approach to minimise plagiarism and ensure standards of academic honesty in assessable work. Students and lecturers can use Turnitin to check that quotations in student writing have been properly acknowledged.
La Trobe University recommends that Turnitin Assignments are created using the Powerlink, via the Add Content Link function in the LMS. Using this method precludes the requirement for lecturers to create classes and for students to create profiles.
