Home Automation Innovation Facility

The Home Automation Innovation Facility is a technology infusion initiative established in partnership between the Centre for Technology Infusion and industry, focusing on Smart Living environment. The vision is to create an environment for technology developers (researchers, start-ups, SMEs, MLC and students) to engage in research, innovation and product development for Smart Living.

Smart Living

Smart Living is the bridging of boundaries between technology and lifestyle beyond the confines of convenience and comfort. It creates a conducive environment compelling users to make right lifestyle choices, which not only have positive health impacts but also offer cost saving and reduce environmental impact. Smart living environment is created by embedding intelligence in user appliances and devices and supplementing it with the capability of seamless inter device communication. This creates an ambient intelligence in user surrounding which can assimilate broad range behavioural parameters and enable sharing of knowledge and information in real-time. This allows creation of context aware devices which can adapt to behavioural patterns of users by anticipating requirements and responding with appropriate actions, thus providing an enhanced lifestyle and cleaner environment.
