Educating the Net Generation workshop: An ALTC funded project
On Wednesday June 10, the CTLC at La Trobe University (Bundoora) is hosting an interactive workshop that examines the research of an Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) project team involving University of Melbourne, University of Wollongong, and Charles Sturt University academics.
The workshop will explore important issues for technology-facilitated learning and teaching, share emerging good practice and lessons learned. Participants will have the opportunity to try out new technologies such as web 2.0 for academic purposes.
The workshop will be presented by project team member Dr Kathleen Gray from the Biomedical Multimedia Unit in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

Green Campus Initiatives: Examples from Australia and Beyond
Professor Geoff Scott (UWS) will provide a quick stocktake of green campus initiatives around the world and explore some of the developments undertaken by UWS in this area over the past two years.
Professor Scott will discuss:
- The international context – including what is happening in the US where the green campus movement is most developed
- A potentially relevant framework with which to give focus to a Green Camus Strategy
- Some initiatives at UWS that have proven effective

Promoting Student Engagement for Learning: Improving Practice with AUSSE Data
Hosted by La Trobe University and the Australian Council for Educational Research, the 2009 Student Engagement Forum focuses on the role student engagement plays in enhancing education and learning in Australian universities.
