Another Successful CTL Colloquium
Two-hundred and forty La Trobe staff attended the second annual Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Colloquium on 3 and 4 December 2009. Feedback from staff attending was very positive. Highlights of the program included: discussions of the draft Design for Learning project implementation recommendations; the student panel; a lively discussion about teaching and research by a panel of associate deans; VC's Award presentation; and a range of interesting presentations by staff on teaching and learning topics.
Please note in your diaries that the 2010 CTL Colloquium will be held on 9-10 December.
Many thanks to those who completed the evaluation forms each day. Whilst the feedback was very positive, we acknowledge that it would have been desirable to distribute the Design for Learning documents to be discussed earlier. These Roundtables were only the first stage in the consultation process. The next iteration of documents will be disemminated well before the February round of consultations for Design for Learning.

Guidelines for Teaching Using Web 2.0 and Social Software
Social software enables people to communicate, interact and collaborate over the Web, and has come to be known as social networking, Web 2.0 and the read/write Web.
La Trobe University recognises that online social networking is a part of the experience of many of our students at university, and that these forms of online interaction have potential to be usefully incorporated into teaching and learning.
A set of guidelines have been developed for La Trobe which includes a list of suitable providers, in terms of privacy and ownership of content, and recommends steps to manage risks in their use.
AUSSE Report Now Available
