Office of Teaching and Learning Grants
The Office of Teaching and Learning (OLT) provides funding for academics and professional staff to investigate, develop and implement innovations in learning and teaching.
In 2013 there is $8 million of funding allocated to grants. Click on each of these links to go to the OLT website for details of these grants:
- Innovation and Development - support research, development and innovation related to the enhancement of learning and teaching in higher education. A wide range of priority areas are listed on the OLT website.
- Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching - build leadership capacity in ways consistent with the promotion and enhancement of learning and teaching in contemporary higher education.
- Seed Programs - pilot projects which test and evaluate an original idea.
- Extension Grants
- Commissioned programs
Grant Applications
For Round 1 of the Innovation and Development and Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Grants, there is the option to lodge either an Expression of Interest or a full grant proposal. Round 2 grants will only accept full proposals invited from Round 1 Expressions of Interest and new Seed Projects.
As a requirement of submission, all La Trobe OLT grant applications must be endorsed by the Office of the DVC(A). All OLT grant applications should be forwarded by the internal deadlines listed below to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Future Learning) Associate Professor Claire Macken on email to c.macken@latrobe.edu.au
The internal deadlines are earlier than the OLT deadline to provide sufficient time for La Trobe DVC(A) endorsement.
Requests for letters of support from the DVC(A) for projects led by other institutions with La Trobe as a partner should be emailed to Associate Professor Claire Macken (c.macken@latrobe.edu.au). Include your full project proposal and a written letter of support for endorsement.

Only open to full proposals invited from Round 1 successful EOIs and new Seed projects- Internal La Trobe Deadline: 5pm, Tuesday 23 July 2013
- OLT Submission Deadline: 5pm (AEST/AEDT) Friday 2 August 2013
