Campus security/safety

Campus security is located on the ground floor, 255 Elizabeth Street.

Responding to an emergency

For emergencies where there is immediate danger and police, fire brigade or ambulance are required, call 000, then call building security on ext. 70113 from internal phones or (02) 9964 6113 from an outside phone line.

Emergency procedures

Emergency procedure diagrams are located on each level throughout the building. These diagrams provide floor plans showing the location of emergency exits and emergency equipment (such as fire extinguishers) and maps for evacuation routes and emergency assembly areas.

Incident reporting

All incidents and injuries that occur at any La Trobe University campus should be reported to reception as soon as possible. Visit reception or phone (02) 93977600.

Computer labs

There are two computer labs at the Sydney Campus for enrolled students to use.

Computer labs are open to students during standard campus open hours.

During term

Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 9:00pm
Saturday – Sunday, closed (except by pre-arrangement)


Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Saturday – Sunday, closed (except by pre-arrangement)

Touch-down stations are also available throughout the Sydney Campus, with both computers and power-points for students who choose to bring their own device.

Please note, computer labs are also used for lecture and tutorial purposes. Students are asked to make use of the touch-down stations in the event the computer labs are occupied by a class.

Free wireless internet is also available throughout the campus.

Additional computers are available for use in the library on level 8. The library opening hours are:

Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 8:00pm
Friday, 8:30am – 6:30pm
Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm
Sunday, closed (except by pre-arrangement)

Printing and copying

The student printer and photocopier is located at the touch-down station outside room 1.20.

Your student ID card is needed to print at the Sydney Campus. You can put credit on or recharge your student ID card at the recharge machine located by the printer. Note the recharge machine accepts cash only.

The cost of printing is 10c per A4 black and white page.
